Yesterday,GAMWORKS held the Third Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the Gambia Pilot Project Funded by KfW through the ECOWAS commission in Abuja.The committee is co-chaired by the Vice President of the ECOWAS commission and the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs

They visited the GTTI Annex in Mansakonko, the Brufut fish landing site and the First headquarters of the ECOMIG Mission in Fajara

Last week, The Vice president of ECOWAS Commission and team visited the Gambia. In her first official visit outside of Abuja. The team focused most of their visit on the Regional Stabilisation and Development Fund (GPP) implemented by GAMWORKS and GIZ.

The ceremony was graced by the German Chargeé d’Affaires Ms Gabriele Boner, representatives from GIZ-FRSD, Fisheries officers, the Contractor - Jarju Kunda Construction, members of the Brufut fisheries association and the Media

Today GAMWORKS handed over a GMD 5,2 million fish smoking facility to the Fisheries association at the Brufut landing site under The Gambia Pilot program (GPP).

The 540 square meter facility houses 8 Chokor Ovens and 2 FTT Thiaroye ovens, a storage area and a preparatory shed.

The facility is built to improve the health and hygiene conditions of fish smokers in the area and promote the use of the new FTT technology which allows the processing of smoked and dried fish products that better meet international food safety and environmental standards

MoFEA has confirmed that Mr. Momodou Lamine Bah, Accountant General of 🇬🇲 has been appointed the new 🇬🇲 Ambassador to the USA. Mr. Bah has worked as a Financial Mgt. Specialist from 2005-2009 and as a Project Manager from 2009-2014 (Consultant) at MOFEA.

The 61st Ordinary Session of @ecowas_cedeao has wrapped up in Accra, Ghana, where the Authority unanimously approved the nomination of the #Gambia’s Dr Omar Touray as the new President of the ECOWAS Commission. He is the first Gambia ever to occupy the position.
