Jon Rahm had a lot to say about his current situation with the DP World Tour.
He mentioned not needing releases from the DP World Tour to play in PGA Tour events, yet now he needs them for LIV.
Here's a three minute explainer on the (very big) difference between the two.
By now you’ve seen clips of Jack Doherty getting banned from PGA Tour events.
But if you are over 45, you probably don’t know how bad it really is.
Jack has made millions doing this. He walks around harassing people and hides behind a giant bodyguard.
And millions watch. And envy.
Imagine the dude who yelled jackass? He gave up his Waste Management ticket so he could impress a kid YouTuber for 1 second of “fame”.
This slop and slop like it is consumed in the billions of hours daily. Teens are watching and seeing a kid like them become a millionaire by being a horrid person.
We live in Idiocracy. And we haven’t even seen the results yet, these kids haven’t grown up. Already there is proof that IQ is dropping fast in our young people. You can see why.
Kudos to the PGA Tour for handling it swiftly. Banned for life right there.
Collin… Hasn’t looked comfortable over these short game/putting strokes in years.
The lack of improvement in these areas over the last 3 or so years is remarkable and the fact that he hasn’t won since 2023 with his T2G game is even more remarkable.
As you can see from this Data Golf course fit graph, TPC Scottsdale is a, fairly, run of the mill PGA Tour course, as a lot of these TPC properties are. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it more so means it rewards the modern golfer. You have to hit it far and straight, and be precise on your approach shots. The top 4 in the course SG Adjustments are Scottie, HE (flusher), Burns, and Cam Young. This signals there’s a premium on ball striking, but the modern ball striker in particular. I tend to think the term “proper test/course” is very subjective but, to me, this is a proper test of golf, oddly enough. Missing fairways is penal, precision with irons is rewarded, winning score tends to be in the mid-teens. Behind all of the theater that comes along with this tournament, some real golf is required.
*Side Note: Scottie was a negative course fit at the Amex and won by 4. This week he has the highest SG Adjustment on TPC Scottsdale, double the next closest… He’s also won here twice, let’s not overthink this.
Brooks (and the Media) have been speaking as if he’s in that A tier of golfers in the world right now, he’s not.
Brooks has not been competitively sharp for the better part of 5 years, prior to leaving for LIV and throughout his time there.
I think the most likely outcome is he lands somewhere in the B- tier of PGA Tour players and fades into the night.
Weird dialogue surrounding him right now.
Brooks Koepka says he’s “super excited” to be back competing against Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy on the PGA Tour.
Speaking ahead of the Farmers Insurance Open, he said:
“I’m super excited about it.
“Obviously Scottie has been dominant. I guess is probably the right word. Rory’s got 5 now. I don’t think anybody’s shocked by this if you’ve watched golf the last few years and how well those guys are playing. I’m excited to battle with them. I think that will be really fun.
“I think the competitive side of me. You obviously want to do a little bit better. But that’s gonna be very tough to do better than Scottie right now. But yeah, I’m excited for it.
“I wanted to play with those guys and see where I’m at and how I can get better, right? That’s the whole goal every day, trying to practice and being out here is to get a little bit better and I’m excited about that.”
Brooks also said he’s going to play as much as he can ahead of the Masters in April and confirmed he will be at The Players Championship in March.
How do you think Brooks will play this week and do you think he can step up his game and provide a threat to Scottie?

With all due respect, this isn't Inside the NBA anymore.
That was their first episode back after an eternity off the air, and it was ~28 minutes long. Some basic banter in the A-block, followed by highlights, and a quick Neat-O Stat of the Night before signing off.
That episode tonight felt like a movie sequel only made because the original was so popular. It does fine at the box office, a couple cheap laughs hitting on the nostalgia of the characters, but has no cultural relevance/staying-power once the marketing campaign ends.
I understand the why, being broadcast on ABC and needing to get to local news for the affiliates because the game ran late, but what made this program so successful for so long was their ability to improv a basketball variety show.
That requires time.
They would do a 15-minute segment of Kenny and Shaq arguing about filling up a gas tank when it hits half-full ($20) is cheaper than filling it from empty ($80), and when they come back from commercial: tap in to their experience and have a legitimate hoops convo, before Shaq decides to eat the world's hottest chip.
It was a beautiful mess, which somehow intertwined heavily-produced segments with the hosts' unique ability to make any random conversation topic entertaining.
On TNT, once they got done with the highlights, they'd shoot the shit for another 30 minutes. It appears they don't have that luxury anymore, and we're lucky to get just one rushed version of Shaqtin', Neat-O, Audio Toons, (Remember Area 21?), etc. thus far this season.
It doesn't help either that nobody has any clue when the guys are on. ESPN made available a schedule of Inside the NBA broadcasts well before the season started, and not a soul cares or is scheduling their days around its randomness. They have had two shows in the last 2+ months. That calendar might as well be Apple's Terms & Conditions at the bottom of every iOS update.
Just my personal opinion here: but the consistency of the show always being on late night ~every Thursday held a ton of equity in its sustained success. The sports media consumer has proven for decades that they are creatures of habit. The rhythm and expectation of content delivery matters. Super Bowl is in February, World Series is in October, Masters is the weekend after Match Madness ends, you can plan ahead knowing these events, amongst many more, are written in stone.
This is more an airing of grievances by a lifelong fan than a critique from someone looking to indulge in schadenfreude. One of the NBA's most cherished properties feels like its being diluted with every episode that airs, and it's only a matter of time until the talent realize it too.
Big putt for on 18 there for Scottie.
Yes, the stroke is nice but hanging on to that spot in the final group makes a real difference.
Blades and Si Woo are going to feel that all day.
Eye Test Observation 👀
The Stadium Course has the most teeth of the three courses.
Sight lines, slopes, tons of water. Still very get-able, but makes for far more volatility.
Sunday should be fun.
Absolute floor days on Approach and Around the Green today for Scottie…
Under discussed part of his game is never shooting himself out of a tournament even when he doesn’t have it.
