@daveainsworth63 Hilarious alongside David Rintoul as the voices of The Big Knights - an animated series so poorly scheduled by the BBC that the makers offered their follow-up, Peppa Pig, to Channel 5 instead. Both actors were in that too. In one PP episode, ... 1/2

@LennonDona37744 @daveainsworth63 "We don't need that bit."

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@daveainsworth63 the ever-ebullient Grampy Rabbit (Blessed) shouts himself hoarse, and Dr Brown Bear (Rintoul) is called; on being told that GR had lost his voice, he asks, "Is that a bad thing?" Such comic gems are wasted on the young (but make Peppa Pig very watchable for parents). 2/2

@woodg31 The Lester tales on Jackanory, with Quentin Blake drawing the pictures on a wall as he told the story (which he'd also written), were superb.

@BortonDoug @ScottMcCreaWest North West Frontier (released in the USA as Flame over India) is worth a watch for Lom at his most intense. And Hell Drivers (with its cast of international film/TV stars-to-be) for his gentler side.

@daveainsworth63 I feel obliged to add #PrivatesProgress #ImAllRightJack #TheNakedTruth and #TheIntruder (a tense little drama, which I discovered through @TalkingPicsTV last year, where he plays an even more loathsome rotter than usual).

@Classicbritcom "Fallon is the champion!"

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@lindleymatty @ATRightMovies There is absolutely nothing dodgy about Juggernaut.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@spenzonfilm @TvDidYouSee It used to be, but was taken down. The soundtrack is on Audible (and was released on CD - plenty of copies on eBay) but we need the visuals! Still, better than nothing; I'm sure I read somewhere that the Tolkien estate suppressed it for years.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@Classicbritcom "You will address me as 'School Bully', you miserable little tick."

(I'm probably paraphrasing a bit, as I haven't watched RY in a while; must put that right.)

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@TheAnorakZone I used to sing "The Sweeney, The Sweeney, It doesn't star CHRIS-topher Beeny..." (In the opening credits it's a boast; at the end, more of a lament.) Then one day I'm watching it on ITV4 and who pops up? Bloody Beeny. Gutting to realise I'd been wasting my time all those years.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@Type40doctorwho I watched it 47 years ago, & the unmasking at the end of the episode properly gave me the willies. Not fair to say Douglas Adams was the sole author, though; I think Graham Williams had some input, & there's a lot of David Fisher's original "Gamble with Time" storyline in it.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@Dene71 I remember watching it in its late-night slot and thinking it pretty good as US adaptations go. I'm sure I'd have enjoyed it even more if it weren't for the inevitable comparisons with Ralph Bates et al.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@The3rdFrame @daveainsworth63 "Bloody Daley!"
One of my favourite Minders: McShane, Lenska, Blessed, and then Ken Campbell shows up and steals the episode from all of them.

@IPhillips79 Probably Mollie Sugden in AYBS - but a little after that I hugely enjoyed watching Peggy Mount and Pat Coombs in You're Only Young Twice (an entirely female-led sitcom which, like Duty Free, was co-written by a woman).

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@daveainsworth63 Great opposite Diana Rigg in Mother Love too.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@MsPollyClark Won wood eggs-pecked a teacher two yews the write word and knot it's homophone.

[Jerry Pinel @PinelJerry]

@Film_lust It's not quite such an impressive line-up, but the 1982 Ivanhoe TV movie - directed by BBC legend Douglas Camfield - boasts one Bond villain (Julian Glover), two henchmen (Michael Gothard, Philip Locke) and a KGB boss who's a nice chap really (John Rhys-Davies).
