Yesterday, Troop E Trooper Brandon Melder was advised of an elderly man suffering from dementia from TX that had gone missing. Tpr. Melder, Rapides Parish Deputies, Pineville Police Officers, and Alexandria Police Officers located the man and reunited him with his family.

UPDATE:
The Pineville Police Department has made an arrest in this afternoon's shooting. Arrested was Donnell Jones, 19 years old. He has been charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and booked in the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

At 12:17 PM the Pineville Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Sanders Street. Upon the arrival of patrol officers one victim was located with non-life threatening wounds. The victim has been transported to a local hospital.
The scene is safe and secure. Investigators are on scene and conducting their investigation. As more information becomes available it will be released.
Due to an earlier accident the traffic light is not functioning, without a functioning traffic signal the intersection becomes an all ๐๐๐๐ for Highway 28 and Stilley Road. Use caution at the intersection.
DOTD will have a reduced speed zone on in place on LA 28 East for the duration of this traffic signal outage.
At this time, DOTD is still assessing the damage so there is no estimate on how long this outage will last. DOTD urges you to drive with caution through the area.
TEMPORARY CHANGE IN TRAFFIC CONTROL: LA 28 East at Stilley Road
The traffic signal LA 28 East & Stilley Road in in Rapides Parish is not operational. DOTD will maintain free-flow traffic on LA 28 East, all traffic from Stilley Road will be restricted to right turns only.
