THE POLITICAL TROUBLES OF SENATOR IMEE MARCOS

1. Her own brother and current President Bongbong Marcos, in a political rally in Cavite, did not mention her name and did not endorse her for reelection as Senator a day after she held a Senate hearing attempting to favor DDS narratives about Duterte’s arrest.

Blood doesn’t seem to be thicker than water anymore…

2. While she’s trying to pander to DDS voters by appearing to strongly side with Tatay Digong and Sara Duterte, 50% if not more of DDS still vocally say they won’t vote for her.

Proof of that is Darryl Yap trying to scold DDS netizens who say they won’t vote for Imee Marcos even if she tries to paint a picture that she’s an ally of the Dutertes.

The DDS say they will never trust a Marcos again and they see through Imee Marcos’ actions.

3. The Solid North or Marcos loyalists are also lukewarm if not hesitant of voting for Imee Marcos given her non-defense of Bong Bong’s actions. The loyalists are wondering why she hasn’t rebuked the Dutertes for calling her brother an “addict” and/or “bangag”.

4. BBM has also denied Imee Marcos of political machinery - she was not given allocations for AICS or AKAP. Her guarantee letters and medical assistance have also been denied or put on hold.

5. The majority of Kakampinks who are staunchly anti-Duterte are definitely not voting for Imee Marcos but a minority of Kakampinks who voted Robredo-Sara last 2022 might vote for her.

These may be the reasons why she’s not doing well in election surveys.

If I were her strategist, she should stop trying to woo the DDS and just go hardcore as a Marcos plus try to get the majority of Kakampinks who are anti-Duterte.

Otherwise, staying the current course will be untenable given that I don’t think the diehard Duterte supporters will ever go for her.
