I was the main designer at 2 companies. And each had a boss man who would just roll up and say I love everything here, but how about we do *something else* and oftentimes it was a terrible idea that derailed my designs/roadmap.
Those are the people who ruin games.
@TFXLB@Hersheypark Last year our hotel key was checked at the front gate and we got in with no log jam at all. This year was a disaster. It took 45 minutes to get to Founders Way leaving only 15 minutes of the "sweet start" hour. Go back to last year's system, it worked great!
@Hersheypark@TFXLB@Hersheypark There was DEFINITELY an issue today. So much so that staff in the gate area checking tickets had to yell at other staff members to push the sweet start line away from the front gate because people were literally standing next to the ticket scanners with nowhere to go
@ItsaMeCannoli Elon changed the feed drastically for the worse and it has lead to both terrible engagement and my feed being polluted with right wing hate. It's better on bluesky for gamedevs, just not as many users yet.
@ItsaMeCannoli I'm in a very similar situation to you (slow solo dev) and it's just so hard to get followers, discord members, and wishlist. I'm not complaining, it's just the way it is, but you will get absolutely none of those things without posting.
@ItsaMeCannoli There are varying opinions on this but the prevailing mindset in the sea of social media is to share early and often, do everything you can to build an audience, don't worry about everything you post being perfect/definitive.
We had Super Hang On with Cyberstick analog controls and MT-32 MIDI music rocking at @Liretro Gaming Expo over the weekend (among other games in rotation!)
Thanks to all who came out to @Liretro expo this weekend and hung out with me in our museum section! This year's show was absolutely our best ever and I had a blast. Hope you all had fun, see you next year!
