@djneyoru Interaction is key element in many more story-driven games like Consume Me or The Stanley Parable.
Esports, speedruns, challenge runs, insane creative things in sandbox games all obviously require interaction. These are all clearly things that are unique to games as a medium.
@djneyoru You don't need phd level familiarity with something to like it. You don't need to know the intricacies of formula 1 cars to like formula 1. You don't need to understand how they have managed to pull off Arbitrary Code Execution in Super Mario Bros. to like the game.
@djneyoru There's many games where you can fully appreciate their mechanics without playing them. Hell, you can appreciate harder games with challenges even without fully comprehending all mechanics. Your take is worded to gatekeep anyone liking any game if they only ever watch them.
