@dieworkwear Also, like... Cargo bikes are a thing. I regularly see them in front of Costco and people can get a week or two of groceries in them pretty easily. Little rolly carts that can hold 2-4 grocery bags are also pretty handy.
@track1971@GailSimone I don't know if this helps, but many local libraries have audiobooks available for borrow (physical media) and temporary download. They don't cost anything and a librarian can walk you through the process.
@dieworkwear Also, like, you don't have to read the whole thread if you don't want to? The info is really cool if you want it, but if you don't, it's pretty easy to like the first thing and keep scrolling.
@Persephiroth Ok, so hair removal by both men and women goes back several centuries at least (wax was the historical method) but it was far from universal or constant. And even if it was, it's still up to you whether or not you wish to pursue it. Like, it's just hair.
@nielsen_holly As someone who is 5'0, and was a PNW goth, I recommend looking for something that hits about mid-calf and instead of a full mantle more of just a back vent. In the past, I've had good luck with Pendleton and London Fog. Still sometimes look like a little kid in dad's jacket tho.
@DevotionOath I made everything but my partner's doublet and hat. Totally didn't realize I made it in staff colors so people keep thinking we work there >.<
@hausofdecline I know everyone's experience is different and unique, but I remember a transmasc friend of mine saying that one of the things he noticed after starting hrt was that he didn't sympathy-cry as much anymore. It's interesting to see people's experiences.
@KP11Studios Seconding the bits about it being a textbook. Check with a local college/university library. Some of them have "community scholar" programs that let non-students use the books and resources. You might also be able to find a used copy on Chegg or AbeBooks.
@nielsen_holly When I took forensic anthropology we talked about this. A lot of people react more viscerally to pet/animal death than humans death. It seems to be one of those very normal things that societally we don't really acknowledge.
@bluejayonx@ThatBronzeGirl Second NorCalRenFaire! It's pretty toasty early in the season, but cools off a bit by mid October. Here's the site, if you're interested

@heymrsbond Animorphs! Glad to say a lot of it still holds up.
Close second was the Anita Blake series, which was decidedly NOT for children but honestly mature themes and body horror have just been running themes from the get-go.
