Training young organists with @DioSalisbury and the Tindall and Michael James Music Trusts. Pupils live or have lessons in the diocese. E: [email protected]
Congratulations to all who took part in our recent workshops in Weymouth and Dorchester, in partnership with @DioSalisbury. If you missed the chance but are still keen, visit the website to get in touch and find out about the dates of our future events! https://t.co/h6aolDkw56
Tonight I taught my last lesson to a pupil whose rise has been so enthralling that it has made me want to up my own game over an astonishing 7 years. All the best to you, @annagmhallett, and keep following your dream! @theorganmanual@RSCMCentre@PipeUpSalisbury@StonarSchool
@realaled @GarethMalone @CarrieGrant1@DavidGrantSays@alexanderarmstr would you be prepared to encourage as many of your contacts as possible to sign this petition and help us get to 100,000? Let's get amateur choirs singing again before 21st June! https://t.co/m36yerR3Wn
Along with the planned recruitment events in Weymouth and Dorchester in July (see separate tweet below), we’re also delighted to confirm an Open Morning for young organists in @SalisburyCath on Saturday 19th February 2022. See the new website for details. https://t.co/h6aolDkw56
Huge shout out to @SofiaHartwell for a great interview with our Director of Music, Chris Totney, on @BBCWiltshire's breakfast show today! Thank you, Sofia, for your time and effort in making our voices heard - wonderfully put together! Starts at 1:41:03. https://t.co/BmC44IoPRA
Why has singing been sidelined while you can still breathe very heavily during exercise and shout and chant at a sports match? Together we can fix this!
Another day and another chance quite literally to make our voices heard! Can Covid tell the difference between professional and amateur choirs? Of course not! @OliverDowden@DCMS@GOVUK Let's get amateur choirs singing again! https://t.co/kI7smOxC2v
@DCMS@GOVUK an absolutely shocking blow to all those who rely on being part of an amateur choir for the benefit of their mental health and well-being. How on earth can this possibly make any sense?!
@OliverDowden if this is your response to a perfectly reasonable question, please would you explain how Covid knows the difference between professional and amateur singers? We've all gone to great lengths to put measures in place! https://t.co/KEhsDHfY3k https://t.co/cwN19VRL4O
@bbcpointswest would you care to come to our choir rehearsal tomorrow night (Friday 7pm) to report on the frustrations of amateur choirs following the Government’s shocking decision to limit the number of singers indoors to just 6? It’s caused an absolute storm across the region!
Department for Culture Media and Sport: Let Choirs Start Singing Again: Singing Will Rebuild National Well-Being; - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/WNQAmCvS83 via @UKChange
Singing certainly adds to the atmosphere of a sporting event. It also adds to the atmosphere of a singing event. I hope singing can once again occur at singing events, just as it can already occur at sporting events.
This is unbelievable and this news has dashed the hopes of millions of people who sing in amateur choirs right across the country, after weeks of heightened expectations. @GOVUK @CommonsDCMS @DCMSArts what on earth has gone so badly wrong and why not multiple groups of six?
@BBCBreaking@BBCBreakfast@BBCNews@BBCNewsPR@BBCRadio3 are you following the social media storm after @GOVUK’s shock announcement last Friday that amateur choirs can only rehearse indoors with 6 people? Broken promise = 1000s of cancelled rehearsals! Please spread this story!
We’re back! If you fancy a trip to the seaside, why not join us for one of our recruitment events in July? For anyone interested in taking up lessons afterwards, we’ll find you a teacher close to the part of the diocese in which you live. Please RT! @DioSalisbury@theorganmanual
Organist job going at a school where I have been fortunate enough to really enjoy teaching over the past 5 years. Please share! https://t.co/nP8AvsSCys
A music director from Devizes has won a prestigious prize for church music. Chris Totney from St John's Church scooped the Royal School of Church Music's Sunday Composition Competition⛪️🎶
@RSCMCentre
Thank you for the good wishes. It’s an honour to be able to contribute an approachable yet rewarding piece to the repertoire. I hope everyone enjoys singing it on 6th June! @RSCMCentre@DioSalisbury https://t.co/EySml2Dtsb
