Pippa and her mum here to show that you shouldn’t place limitations or have negative expectations of anyone with Down Syndrome. 2021 & 2022 Ambassador for WCAT.
Very proud to announce that Pippa is an Ambassador for @Wouldntchangea1 for a third year! We love being part of this amazing awareness-raising charity & look forward to more fun this year! Bring it on….. there’s more work to do!! #DownSyndrome#WCATAmbassador2023#worktodo
Pippa is one of our 2023 WCAT Ambassadors. She introduces herself below;
‘Hello! I’m Pippa and I’m 17 years old. I live with my Mum, Dad, sister Jemima (who does a lot of WCAT content with me) and brother Dougal. We also have two cats and a snake! 🧵
@RetirementTales Thank you! These last words have made me emotional. The last of my 3 children is about to finish secondary eduction; I feel an immense sense of relief. School isn’t a nice place to be for teachers or pupils; change is needed. The 1 thing we need more than anything is respect.
@Helen_Barnard Yep, we applied at 4pm. She only received her last offer last week and is now deciding where to pick. I didn’t think you applied for finance until you’d picked your course and uni so this was a surprise to me today when her tutor reminded her!!!
@PERFORMERS_COLL Thanks - DM didn’t come through but after waiting for 10wks, she finally got an offer from Performers that day before automatic decline day!
#musicaltheatretraining twittersphere advice please! Child had audition & submitted self tape to @PERFORMERS_COLL 8.5wks ago, still not had decision. All her other offers have been in for wks; her friends are all sorted.She is left hanging in limbo! Is this normal? Seems unfair.
@PERFORMERS_COLL Hi I’d love too as this is only partially resolved after 10wks and with only 48hrs until the decline by default will be applied to her offer. There isn’t a way to DM on your profile though?
@PERFORMERS_COLL Hi @PERFORMERS_COLL - still trying to resolve this. Neither her tutor nor In am get through to anyone on the phones. Tutor held for over 20mins earlier and had to give up; I’ve now been on hold for 11mins. Why is this so hard?
@PERFORMERS_COLL Thanks for reply. Over last now 9wks, we have called, live chatted and always just told “it’s with audition panel”. Emailed around 7 April, still no reply. Her college tutor is going to call today to see if she can find out what is going on as we can’t get any info.

@RyanSoapKing25 Those aren’t Strictly Legends for me. Legends are Colin J, Darren G, Mark Ramprakash, Chris H, Tom Chambers, Harry Judd, Alesha , Jay McG, Stacey, Rose, Chris Mc - people who aren’t dance trained (or at least not to a high level) and who actually improve and learn to dance.
@strictlyxtweets This show is meant to be about celebs learning to dance, so I vote for those showing the most improvement. I vote for Ellie, Jimmy, Bal, La Voix and Harry this week. For me, Amber shows the least improvement as she can already dance, so she can leave.
2/2 it’s those who you can see getting better. So I would keep in Ellie, Jimmy, La Voix, Bal, Vicky - I can’t wait to see how far they can improve by the end of the series. Amber and Lewis aren’t
Making such big improvements because they can already dance so they can go.
Really sad to see Jimmy and Lauren go - for me he is what the show is about. #Strictly was intended to be a show where celebs that couldn’t dance, learned to dance. So for me, we should be keeping in those who are making progress, showing improvement. It’s not the best dancer 1/2
