What are your funny/creative ideas for placards and slogans for the upcoming junior doctor strikes?
So far I like:
“Pay so bad, even the introverts are here”
“First came the claps, now come the slaps”
“Doctors: 30% off”
“My outrage can’t fit on this sign”
Consultants who are covering the strike. Firstly, thanks.
Secondly, pretend you're a new rotational trainee. Look where you can put your bag, park, eat. Don't use your office, use only the chairs and space you are given. What consultant-lvl decisions are you making? Would the f1?
"You knew the pay when you applied" - and it's been cut by 26%
"You knew what you were getting into" - and it's been severely underfunded
"If you don't like it, then leave." - they are
"Why can't I get an appointment?!" - they left.

If you are a surgical FY1 and you haven't had a cry about work yet, you are either incredibly good at stress management or emotionally unavailable. There is no in between.
Potentially controversial thought: has the “NHS heroes” narrative contributed to abuse of front line staff? We’ve encouraged the public to think of healthcare workers as infallible heroes, rather than hardworking ordinary people doing their best with absurdly limited resources.
@zackferguson Hey ! Exeter mess here- food +++ with weekend takeaways for all working. Summer gardening competition. Increased sports equipment budget and talking about doing giving out vouchers to members to buy drinks etc !
Junior doc doing extra shifts as a contact tracer gets in touch.
‘I’m paid more to sit at home phoning people to talk from a set script than to wear hot, sweaty PPE for upto 6 hrs at a time looking after covid patients’
Contact tracer £17.35 p/h
Jun doc £13.50 p/h for 40 hr wk
I think this will be how we’ll be doing our exit viewing now our landlord is kicking us out @TGraber1 ... still pandemic house move has been nothing but interesting !
