The entire modern world uses crude oil and we aren't about to stop now. We use it for EVERYTHING. All organic chemistry, every single reaction uses some chemical derived from oil with a benzene ring at it's core. All plastics, tarmac, concrete, tires, all clothing (even the stuff made ofnmatural fibres uses tools and transport made from or using oil) fertiliser made from natural gas using the haber process, all mining, all metal refining, all silicon chips, fibre optics, medicine, transports, cable insulation, power lines, refrigerant gases solar panels, batteries ALL of it uses oil or gas in its manufacture. So the question isn't use oil or don't use oil, its spend money buying it from other nations or drill and explore our own wells. Even if you want to transition to some as yet technically infeasible post oil future, it will take trillions of barrels of oil to get there. That's why Zack is retarded, and that's why being "against oil" is a reductionist position that appeals to emotionally driven morons who don't live in the real world.
