On a happier note. We retired this cutie to Pirates Promise, he got off the van and a girl at the stable immediately fell in love with him. She’s been looking for a show project. He will need rehab and retraining before being able to be formally adopted but that’s the quickest match made in heaven if I’ve ever seen one

@reredevaux Thank you for trusting us with this sweetheart!

Good people in racing make all the difference.
So far in 2026:
🏇 4 Pirates’ Promise horses placed into loving homes
🏇 3 more retired safely into the program today
Thank you to the owners and trainers who trust us to help give these horses the next chapter they deserve.

Cherry is here to tell you blind doesn’t mean broken!
Sometimes it just means they need someone willing to see them differently.

We’re pretty proud of this girl as she continues to pack on the pounds and wow us under saddle. 🏴‍☠️❤️ #PiratesPromise

Cherry came to Pirates’ Promise after her owner lost her battle with cancer.
Blind. Scheduled to be euthanized.
Today she had her first ride with us guided only by voice and trust. She walked forward with quiet bravery. She is safe. She is wanted. She is home. ❤️

Please read both attachments. We were made aware of a farm in TN trying to send thoroughbreds to non thoroughbred specific auctions and we would like to bring some attention to this

We celebrated the New Year with a birthday party for the pirates promise family. Our horses are all another year older and an another year wiser. We hope to have a year full of adoptions, safe retirements, and health!

✨ All Moonie wants in the New Year is a kid to love on him.
Moon Over Montgomery has settled beautifully into retired life, retiring a winner and now finishing up light duty before we begin retraining him and put him up for adoption. ❤️⚜️

Spanish Wells on his fourth ride post racing! This guy ended his career as a winner and was retired sound and healthy.

We know what horse we are cheering for this weekend! Did you know Rebel Red wears a special set of blinkers that trainer Cherie DeVaux had made for him? One side is the normal blinkers cup and the other is a leather pirate patch to cover his lost eye for his safety!

[Cherie DeVaux @RealDeUavx]

On Halloween Reagan had the best description of Rebel Red
“Mentally he’s a pirate, physically he’s a horse” 😂
