I got a shock collar for this transgression and triggered it when my dog Riley got close to the chickens. He never looked at those chickens the same. He felt that they had special powers and never chased them again. It was the one and only time I had to use that collar on him, otherwise he was perfect in so many ways. You are going to have to expound a little bit more regarding this statement. For instance, I raised my children to love the Lord and be respectful of others but ultimately they have to decide for themselves if they are going to exercise what I taught them. Not sure if any of their fruit is from me but instead from Christ also living in them. I agree in part with Lizzie's statement that it is not good to keep bad company but is that what you are really saying here? If you are, then this is my response:
Scripture doesn’t command believers to live in bubble-wrap, but instead, it calls us to be Spirit-led.
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Bad company corrupts good morals.” (This is my agreement in part)
Romans 12:2 renewing your mind matters; the environment you feed yourself with affects what you believe and want.
Galatians 5:16 “walk by the Spirit” (experience) so you don’t carry out fleshly desires.
This doesn’t mean “Jesus in me disappears” or that you’re helpless. It means your choices can get pressured by surroundings but you always have Him in you to bring you back to where your mind should rightly be. Jesus in me means I’m not condemned or powerless. But I still have to choose to cooperate with the Spirit instead of getting carried away by influence.

Jesus’ statement is about the old covenant system (Sermon on the Mount)
In Matthew 6, Jesus is speaking to Jews who were still under the Law’s economy, where forgiveness and acceptance were tied to covenant performance and religious practice. After the cross, forgiveness is no longer granted on that basis. That’s why New Testament instructions to believers sound different:

Ephesians 4:32 “forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you ”
Colossians 3:13 “forgive… just as the Lord forgave you ”
Note in the above verses believers forgive because God already forgave them, not in order to be forgiven.

The cross makes forgiveness once-for-all, not repeatable. In Hebrews the message is very direct because Christ deals with sin permanently.

Hebrews 10:14 “by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”
Hebrews 9:26 Christ appeared “ once for all … to do away with sin.”
So when Jesus speaks in a Law-context “if… then…” (Matthew 6), we don’t take it as a standing New Covenant condition for believers’ eternal forgiveness. The New Covenant basis is the finished work of Jesus’ blood.
“Grace isn’t a one-way street" but not in the way that earns forgiveness. Grace flows out of you into how you treat others. That’s why Ephesians and Colossians command forgiveness. But the logic is from grace to grace-bearing:
God forgives you in Christ then you forgive others. Not:
You forgive others and then God forgives you.
Bottom line, Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6 can be true within its covenant/setting, but it’s not the rule of life for believers seeking renewed forgiveness. New Covenant forgiveness is grounded in Christ’s finished work, and Christians forgive because they already live in that forgiveness.
You have to understand how to rightly divide the words of truth:
2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.”
Luke 24:27 Jesus “explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures” (showing interpretation must center on Christ).
2 Corinthians 3:14–16 the “veil” stays when Moses is read without turning to Christ; when you turn, you understand.
Hebrews 8:13 the old covenant is obsolete, so Scripture isn’t read as if the old covenant rule still governs believers.
Galatians 3:23–25 the Law functioned until Christ; believers are no longer under that tutor.
Romans 10:4 “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
1 Timothy 1:8–9 the law is good, but it’s not primarily for the righteous; it has a specific use and purpose.
You have to understand things spoke by Jesus while He was under the law need to be brought into proper context. Everything changed at the cross and a new life at His resurrection. On this side of the cross we are "a new creation" because our old self was crucified with him. Yes, very much so grace is a one way street but we can extend His grace onto others but it will be Him doing His works in and through us.

If you can't believe the scripture I've cited as being truthful then you might as well throw the entire bible in the trash. If you throw the entire bible in the trash, you have no way of knowing who God really is. I know Him intimately because He has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ and because He gave us His Spirit to decern what is right and what is wrong. Sometimes that discernment is immediate and sometimes it takes a while. He only reveals His truths to us when our heart is ready for it.

I don't think you are asking anything. I am giving food for thought to those who are watching this conversation. I know your heart is far from wanting to know His truth because it is wrapped so tight around your religion and it is hard to let it go because that is your identity. Many people have built an identity on rules, rituals, and spiritual achievement.
Colossians 2:20–23 rules about “don’t handle… don’t taste…” lose power in Christ.
Hebrews 10:1–4 the old sacrifices couldn’t perfect anyone only Christ does.
So when the gospel says, “Jesus is enough,” people feel like their whole structure is being dismantled. I trust in God's living word, not some religious system that was perverted by mans thoughts over many centuries. Archeological evidence also supports what we have in the bible today is what He intended us to have. However, I put more trust in Him that He insured His word was preserved.

It is good that we don't know the exact day and the exact hour because people will do a lot of stupid stuff. knowing the season is a different concept in that we are eagerly awaiting our Lords arrival. Knowing time is short allows us time to urgently let loved ones know to get off the fence and to not worry when we start seeing things in the world that is alarming and falling in line with the prophets.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 “All Scripture is inspired by God…”
2 Peter 1:20–21 prophecy didn’t come from human will, but “men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”
2) God keeps/preserves His Word
Scripture doesn’t just say “God inspired it,” it also speaks of God keeping it (preserving it in history for His purposes):
Psalm 12:6–7 God says His words are “pure… preserved.”
Psalm 119:89 “Forever… Your word is settled in heaven.”
Matthew 5:18 not even the smallest stroke of the Law will pass away until fulfilled.
John 10:35 Scripture “cannot be broken.”
1 Peter 1:23–25 the Word of the Lord “endures forever” and is preached as “good news.”
Isaiah 40:8 “The word of our God stands forever.”
Luke 21:33 “heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Romans 15:4 what was written in the past was written “for our instruction,” so it remains useful for God’s people.
Hebrews 4:12 God’s Word is alive and active (it’s not a dead, lost thing).
Early churches were instruments of God.

My response is always: Who is your accuser? Satan is your accuser. Jesus clothed you with His robe which now becomes our new identity. I don't care what you have done in your past because I also wear His robe of righteousness. That is His gift to us where we abide as Romans 12:5 states, believers are “members” of one body in Christ, not spiritual strangers you judge from the outside. Our sins were dealt with once and for all at the cross. Now in Christ, we are loved, forgiven, and God’s workmanship .
