Conversations with dad:
Me: "What time do you think you'll be here?"
Winfield: "Probably around noon. Does that work?"
Me: "Yep! Just wanted to gauge how long I can go without a bra."
Winfield: "Well I won't be wearing one. I don't care if you do either. It's your house." π€£
Winfield: very supportive of my wild career choices and ideas
Also Winfield: "Did you brush your hair with a pitchfork when you fed horses this morning? Yikes."

Can anyone on #horseX tell me why the word "own" is put in front of "son" and "daughter" all the time? To me, a son is a son, and a daughter is a daughter... The word "own" just seems unnecessary.
Someone called animal control once because we didn't have our cows in the barn when it got below zero. The sheriff's deputy that took the call was our vet's son. We had coffee and a good laugh.
@ranchersdottir First rule of livestock bionomics told to me the first day of the class in college β do not assign your feelings and views to your livestock, they evolved differently and experience the world differently
To my neighbors who see my dog out on the tie out, know I see your reaction driving by. She may be out there by herself, but trust I keep a close eye. She thinks doing dishes is boring too, so there she is.
And when you wave at her, my heart is so full. π Thank you. π₯Ή
@ChancyHales @ranchersdottir I've never heard of a good reason or need to strap a person to a bull either. π€·π»ββοΈ
To your end point though, I believe I read women can compete in PRCA team roping. Maybe we need to.
@ranchersdottir Just bar 'em! That neck has all the cords you need, just gotta look fer 'em! π€£ JK
Someone once told me that real guitar players don't need capos. I told him real cowboys don't wear spurs to town but sometimes it's handy to keep your jeans off the ground without rolling them π€·π»ββοΈ
Winfield is at a trappers convention 6 hours away from home by himself. He called me so he could hold his FLIP PHONE up to the band because they were good and he wanted me to hear them. I've teared up a few times today, but these ones were happy. My dad's a good one. π
