Making the "Mera Balam Thanedaar" reel proved costly! A video of a constable posted at the control room in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, handing his service revolver to a female constable and filming a reel of the song "Mera Balam Thanedaar" went viral on social media.

Upon learning of the video, the Jalaun Superintendent of Police (SP) suspended constable Arvind Patel with immediate effect on charges of indiscipline. A departmental inquiry is also underway into the role of the female constable in the matter. The police department says that action will be taken as per rules in cases of indiscipline
