I was reluctant to bring this up since nobody likes the idea of BotW/TotK being a reboot. I was going to make a video about it, and still might. To me, this shows the two games are a reimagining in a Japanese setting, built upon their myths and legends. (4/4) #TotKTriforce

If it is the Triforce, it's likely a reference to the Hojo Clan and their crest, the Mitsuuroko, which is three triangles. It represents divine scales they received as blessings from dragons. The clan existed around Kyoto, what the BotW map is based on. (3/4) #TotKTriforce

I found this last summer with Discord user Loredofthemountain and investigated. Each scale appears around the 13th spike of each dragon. There is no similar scale on the Light Dragon. The Demon Dragon does have a black triangle in a similar spot. (2/4) #TotKTriforce

Others have recently found this, so I'll talk. In BotW & TotK, unusual triangle scales are on the three dragons. This could be the Triforce, it could also be a model error with the scale texture appearing on part of the "spike" protrusion. (1/4) #TotKTriforce
