The ridiculous arguments by Ambani’s army of Internet shills make no sense

On the one hand, they say Starlink couldn’t possibly compete with the amazing low prices offered by Ambani’s de facto monopoly in India and then, in the same breath, they essentially claim that Starlink would be too strong of a competitor! This is absurd hypocrisy and hyperbole.

The reality is that competition would greatly benefit the average citizen in India by giving them more choices, as it always does. Ambani’s profits will be lower, but he is not going out of business. And, obviously, if Starlink is too expensive in India, no one will buy it, so SpaceX will need to make pricing affordable.

In view of the ongoing Middle East / West Asia situation, the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) has issued Circular 17 of 2026, providing a 3-month extension for:
✅ Certificate of Competency (CoC)
✅ Certificate of Proficiency (CoP)
✅ All STCW-related certificates
This extension ensures uninterrupted vessel operations, supports safe crew deployment, and prioritizes the welfare of our seafarers during this challenging period.

⚓ Important Concern Raised for Indian Seafarers
The All India Seafarers Union has formally raised a serious concern regarding the increasing number of C1/D (Seafarer Employment) visa rejections faced by Indian seafarers at the U.S. Consulate General, India.
Many seafarers apply for cruise ship and merchant vessel employment through authorized RPSL companies and ship owners. The recruitment process usually takes 1–2 months, including interviews, documentation verification, training, and medical examinations.
However, recently many candidates are experiencing visa refusals without even being called for an interview, despite completing all required procedures. This situation is creating major difficulties for seafarers who have invested time, effort, and financial resources to begin their maritime careers.
The All India Seafarers Union has respectfully requested the U.S. Consulate General,lndia to kindly review this matter and ensure fair consideration for genuine seafarer applicants.
We have also suggested that during the current global situation, if the C1/D visa validity (normally up to 5 years) cannot be granted in full, at least a minimum validity of 2 years may be considered so that new candidates can start their careers at sea without unnecessary obstacles.
⚓ Indian seafarers play a vital role in the global maritime industry, and we hope for positive support from the concerned authorities.
