@CantEverDie Like, this kind of figure is even being parroted elsewhere in the comments here.
"AI is using 2% of global power"
That's the number you get if you google "Datacenter power usage globally", and don't account for literally everything else other than AI.
@CantEverDie The biggest problem around this whole argument is that people (whose hearts are in the right place), keep repeating huge numbers about AI datacenter power.
Typically this is by just getting the number for all datacenters globally and not accounting for 80% of them not being AI
@byebyesoberday I've been listening to some Godspeed You! Black Emperor recently, so id recommend "Raise Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven". It's a pretty great album.
@Vampuppy_Page Started a movement from genuinely using it for everyone, to avoiding it if I can tell someone's obviously trans, to just using it with everyone when among friends who're chill with it.
@Vampuppy_Page It's interesting, because I'm pretty sure I did use those words gender neutrally. I used to refer to both men and women as "bro" or "dude". But once the concept of those terms causing dysphoria was told to me, it was like Pandora's box opening and immediately self doubt was cast.
