Meet Flight Lieutenant Kafayat Sanni:

Kafayat Sanni made history as the first female fighter pilot in the 55 years of the Nigerian Air Force. In 2017, she was the best pilot at the NAF 401 Flying Training School in Kaduna State. After that, she went to the United States for the Aviation Leadership Programme. She has now returned and was honored with 12 new fighter pilots at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja late last year. She is the first woman to fly Alpha Jets. Her colleague, the late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, trained in South Africa for 14 months and became the first female combat helicopter pilot.
