UCNPs were functionalized with oligonucleotides designed to detect part of the viral genome coding for the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp)/Helicase (Hel), a marker that is also used in Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing.
