Consent secured from Conwy Council to renovate St Kilda Hotel on the prom in Llandudno. This will enable The Inn Collection Group to sensitively upgrade the listed building to enhance visitor accommodation. It has been great working with them on their third site in north Wales.
While @WelshGovernment requires statutory consultees to respond to pre app consultation within 28 days, we have today received a response from them to a statutory consultation issued 10 weeks ago….

@drneilharris Fully accept the ownership but LPAs and WG are not very good at making judgments on, for e.g. commerciality of allocations and the diminished power of the inspector and lack of x examination at hearings has imho really harmed the credibility of the process and quality of plans.
Well done to BCBC on the adoption of its new LDP. It is a worry about the LDP system however that the remit of an Inspector now, as highlighted in the IR, “is to recommend changes where they are required to make the Plan sound, and [] not to seek to make a sound plan better. “

@AneurinMon Given that PEDW are now taking 24 weeks even to issue a start date on appeals in Wales, not convinced they are qualified to offer a masterclass in anything right now.
Since @WelshGovernment created PEDW to take over planning appeals in Wales the performance has been dire. The delay from receipt to START of the appeal is now estimated at a minimum of 24 weeks.
