Third graders are listening to music by Sibelius and creating a story to go along with what they hear. So creative! Soon we will hear this music performed by the RPO in a concert they will record for us.

Fifth graders create motions to go along with "Trepak" from The Nutcracker. Their creativity and teamwork never fail to amaze me!

Second graders enjoy being the "Conductor of the Day." They get to use Miss Mossey's baton and conduct their classmates while listening to a piece of music. This week's music is "March of the Toy Soldiers" from The Nutcracker.

The grand finale to the lesson has student groups performing for each other. Their peers then have the opportunity to offer feedback to the performers. It's amazing what these kids come up with!

Plank North 4th graders have been working in groups to create their own rhythm patterns on hand drums. Rhythm, steady beat, playing skills, and collaboration are just a few of the skills they are using today!

2nd graders follow a "conductor" who leads them in exploring the sounds the barred instruments can make.

Listening to each other, keeping a steady beat, discussing and working together to choose the most appropriate instrument for their part, AND reading music! Today's 4th graders have been busy!

UPK students are pretending they're underwater while listening to "Aquarium" by Camille Saint-Saëns. I felt like I was surrounded by fish, dolphins, and jellyfish!

I've missed hearing my kids sing!! We jumped right back into the swing of things by singing in canon. They aced it!
