Remembering Our Queen.
Today people from across the UK, Commonwealth and around the world will pay tribute to the extraordinary life and reign of Her Majesty The Queen.
Chief Minister Julie Thomas and I paid our respects to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II lying in state yesterday. We were honoured to sign the Book of Condolence on behalf of the communities of St Helena, Ascension & Tristan da Cunha.
Following this morning's Proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III, flags have returned to half-mast on St Helena. They will remain there until the day after the State Funeral.
“Queen Elizabeth was a life well lived; a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of lifelong service I renew to you all today.”
His Majesty The King addresses the Nation and the Commonwealth.
Yesterday, 08 September we received the sad news of Queen Elizabeth II's passing. We, the National Trust would like to send our condolence to King Charles III and the Royal Family on the death of our Patron. May she rest in peace.

Black & White August. Day 31–St Paul’s #StHelena
Jamestown’s & St Paul’s respective city & cathedral status was bestowed by Queen Victoria in 1859 w Letters Patent. But, because the town's character had fallen into ‘disrepute’ it was decided to place the cathedral in the country.
