@martinsean@classwords powerschool will actually leave grades out to 5 decimal places if you (or your district) chooses to engage that option...
for me, the discussion becomes... how much missing work did you have. If less than 3 I bump, more than 3 you stay.
What about at 59? do you bump then?
@mpershan I regularly tell kids that there are mistakes they must make. There are misconceptions in their thinking that must be corrected and making mistakes is how we fix those problems.
I've said this for decades to 100's of students. I still believe it. I should trademark it.
@Milhart66Ken I've been tempted on these for a couple years. Their hardiness is all over the map when it comes to nurseries.
I'm a warm zone 6 (the maps put me in 6, but I rarely dip below 0). I'm assuming nigh perfect drainage, especially in winter, though a good mulching wouldn't hurt
She is a true Olympian and I hope she wins GOLD next time
#Poland#Olympics2020
Jest prawdziwą olimpijką i mam nadzieję, że następnym razem zdobędzie ZŁOTO.
Polish silver medalist in Javelin throw Maria Andrejczyk, who is also a devout Catholic, sold her Olympic medal in auction to find money for the heart surgery of a Polish boy. Polish store chain Zabka won the auction, but they returned the medal back to her 🇵🇱
@mrallanmaths I teach it, but then I immediately admit that I don't use it.... I don't require students to use it, if they prefer PT
It is a cumbersome formula and I've found no good ways to type it (google docs hates roots).
My goto is always the Pythagorean Theorem.
@MathTechCoach Love this....
My first thought was how many distinct lines could be formed using these 25 points? How many with (+) whole number slopes? How many with (-)? How many different (+) fractional slopes?
Nice.. I have more ?'s but not much more space...
@MathByTheMt I also do not make a big deal out of them. I do set up a half-dozen of each type and let the students observe any patterns they can find. I will then, if they see the patterns go onto the fully algebraic forms (a + b)^2, etc.
The other methods I teach for factoring work fine
Can I just say how excited I am that @pamjwilson suggested that it was time for #Made4Math to come back? With a new classroom to organize and a new prep to plan for, I need the inspiration and motivation to get started! Join in by sharing your own creations each Monday!
@benjamindickman @JennSWhite absolutely cribbage...
hones arithmetic skills (adding to 15, 31) Strategy..
Moving the pegs is always a great inducement. With new players I start them at 45 points.
I
@FoodGardenLife far more productive than Hinnonmaki (red). It is a slightly smaller fruit, though. My BV bush is 6 feet tall, H(r) is a more rambling variety (3 feet tall at most)
@Milhart66Ken I've got one in my front yard (5th year I believe)...my wife likes it so much that she had me plant one for her mom at the in-laws place (much colder).. It bloomed for her this year for the first time (3rd year)
