@tvredsignal I genuinely have no idea how people can come to the conclusion that value isn’t subjective. I don’t like something, someone else does, therefore it’s more valuable to them.
@gloccnem Black people try so hard to make everything about them, and then when you call bullshit they call you racist. The racism supply is so low they have to act trashy to make more.
@Qui3tJon@DreamLeaf5 You're pivoting to consequentialism. The topic is when a fetus becomes human, which by scientific definition is at conception. I want to know why you believe that the scientific definition is wrong and what arguments you have to support you're own idea of when a child is human.
@10k_tae@DreamLeaf5 Sustainability of life is not a measure of the moral value of that life. If I rip out somebody’s pacemaker I can’t say it’s ok because the person wouldn’t be able to live without it. Also colloquial terms still have meaning, pointing out that a fetus isnt a baby isnt some gotcha.
@Qui3tJon@DreamLeaf5 You are completely misunderstanding what I’m saying. I was asking why using this argument to criticize all abortions is wrong. Beyond health issues most people agree aborting a baby this late is morally wrong, what makes it different from aborting early in pregnancy?
@BiatchDulce Besides the obvious bias this repeats multiple issues with different wording. It’s also misleading on issues like taxes and child tax credits, republicans largely favor child tax credits and are obviously in favor of immigration reform.
@SullwoodUTDR@92005Max@AlbinoHoodRat1@MattHausmannAtx@Tanukishiro92@SomaticHorrors The way I view it is much less specific. To me traditional gender roles at their core is as simple as men provide/protect and women care/nurture. Its more a vague set proclivities that make us more suited to our respective roles than it is a framework for how to achieve them.
@SullwoodUTDR@92005Max@AlbinoHoodRat1@MattHausmannAtx@Tanukishiro92@SomaticHorrors You are ignoring other physiological differences between the sexes, including pregnancy which sparked this discussion in the first place. Just using that as an example, pregnancy inherently changes social roles and labor division because pregnant women are less suited for work.
