🇮🇹🇦🇺🦘 Yesterday @LAV_Italia was at the @Montecitorio press conference with a delegation of indigenous Australians to urge Italy to ban imports of #kangaroo skin & meat.
🦜 The EU #positivelist is a crucial step in protecting animals, public health & biodiversity by regulating which species can be kept as pets. It's time for a unified approach to stop cruelty, prevent zoonotic risks + protect ecosystems.

Our request for cats & dogs to the @EU_Commission is simple: we want strong legislation for the welfare of our pets.
This should include:
🚚 fighting the illegal pet trade
🛑 banning the breeding + advertising of extreme features
🐈 including strays in compulsory identification & registration rules
🐇 extending the proposal to other animals considered as pets

🦭 As apex predators, #seals play a crucial role by helping to maintain healthy marine ecosystems.
❤️ Seals promote greater #biodiversity within an #ecosystem. We must protect them!
⚠️ We have until 7 August to #ActforSeals 👉 https://t.co/RUprHEgUNl
Tomorrow we strive to make the world aware of the horror of live animal export
#BanLiveExport Awareness Day!
Few things are as cruel & unnecessary as exporting live sentient beings in appalling conditions for weeks at a time - it results in dreadful injuries & loss of life
@ciwf
A huge THANK YOU to the almost 20,000 citizens who sent a message to their candidates asking them to sign the #VoteforAnimals pledge. ❤️
And of course thank you to the more than 1,000 candidates who pledged to make #animalwelfare a priority if elected! 🙏
We have candidates from all member states and all parties, now we just have to see how many of those who signed the pledge are elected! 🗳️🇪🇺

Devastating news from Iceland. Fin whales will be hunted this summer. After months of deliberation, the Icelandic government has granted a new one-year fin whaling licence.
We scrutinised the suffering inflicted on fin whales during the 2022 and 2023 hunts and provided our report to the Icelandic government. They ignored the evidence, the wishes of Icelanders and the world. United, we will keep fighting until this barbaric practice ends.
@BjarkeyOlsen, you had the chance to safeguard intelligent, sentient whales and the world waited for you to do the right thing, but, with this year's quota, up to 128 of them will be inhumanely killed.
