It’s still a light recommendation from me. There is clear effort and talent on display. It is a niche concept that is pulled off effectively. I would like to see what else Ben Leonberg and Indy can do.
Slept on it, but finally saw Good Boy. It’s unique in its approach and the short runtime keeps it from overplaying its hand. It feels like one of those horror flicks that sticks in the back of your mind. Like, “hey, remember that one dog movie.” And yes, Indy is a very good boy.
His motivations are simple: protect himself and his owner from ghost stuff.
It’s very simplistic storytelling, which is a major thing that could turn people off. If you need clear plot progression and explanations to get invested, which is understandable, then this isn’t for you
