The only question now is
How will you use it?
What people say or do to you says more about
who they are than it does about you.

Instead, masterfully leverage resistance
What can I learn?
โHow will this benefit me?
โWhat is the opportunity?
โHow can I use this as fuel?
โWhat must it be like to be in their head?
โHow will I use this to serve others more effectively?
โWhatโs the gift in this that I wouldnโt have otherwise?
โWhat are they seeing that they would form such a view?
โIn what way is this making me stronger, wiser, more capable?
These questions focus your attention in a way
that makes leveraging resistance easily accessible.
They train your mind to welcome resistance
rather than reject it.
With practice, this skill will leave you benefiting in any situation.
Resistance is only an obstacle as long as you resist it.
The moment you leverage it, it's an asset.

People around you need something from you, or
they're afraid of you, or they're watching how
everyone else responds and following suit.
The honest voice in the room gets rarer the higher you go.
It might also be the most uncomfortable one to be around.
This week's issue of The Grip is about the relationships that serve your greatness, not your comfort:
โข What it actually looks like when someone stands for who you're capable of being
โข The costly difference between the people who agree with you and the people who tell you the truth
โข A two-question audit for the most important relationships in your life

How many people in your inner circle will tell you things you don't want to hear?
May you prosper in every way ๐
Your story isn't "truth."
It's construction.
And construction can be taken apart:
Most founders try to beat a limiting story by arguing with it.
That just hardens the position.
Deconstruction starts somewhere earlier:
Locate the origin scene.
Not to place blame.
To see the mechanics.
There was a moment before the story existed.
Then something happened.
โYou made it mean something.
โThe meaning became a lens.
โThe lens became automatic.
Now you call it being realistic.
But it's really a propaganda machine.
And it's running you.
Here's what I give clients when we're working through this:
For seven days, write down one good thing a day.
One win. One support. One clean moment.
No commentary. No spin. Just record.
Then read the list back.
Watch what your mind does with it.
That reaction is the propaganda at work.
And once you can see it working, you can interrupt it.
That's when new options start appearing.
Options you couldn't see from inside the story.
Seeing the story as construction is it's

Reasons sound responsible.
But they're just designer excuses.
So you feel better about not getting what you want:
Your survival brain gets very reasonable in uncertainty.
It hands you logic that quietly shrinks your life.
When certainty disappears, your mind starts negotiating:
โBut the economy, my industry!โ
โBut we need more proof, more time!โ
It all sounds mature.
It's also be a slow exit from your own power.
Every place you outsource responsibility, you outsource agency.
You give up power to create what you want in life.
Put responsibility on the economy and your hands are tied.
Put it on the market and thereโs nothing you can do.
Put it on timing and you become a spectator in your own business.
In times of uncertainty, what serves you is ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฆ responsibility, not less.
I call it ๐๐ป๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ responsibility.
Getting rid of the reasons you use to stop.
It's not recklessness. It's refusal to let โreasonsโ run the mission.
Decide the outcome you're committed to creating.
Then act like it depends on you.
It does.
This is leadership your team can feel.
It trains culture to play offense, not defense.
It turns uncertainty into traction.
Imagine your best reason to wait. Then imagine you no longer have the capacity to think that thought.

The founders most hungry for deep connection are
usually the ones most committed to
There's a particular kind of loneliness that
doesn't look lonely from the outside.
You're at the table.
You're in the room.
People respect you.
Some of them would say they admire you.
But nobody knows what it actually costs to be you right now,
and somewhere inside, you've decided that's just how it
goes at this level because true confidants are scarce.
Many founders think their loneliness is supply issue.
They're waiting for the right people to arrive:
the right mastermind, the right peer group, the right $30K room.
But those won't solve the source of the scarcity.

Delay feels like relief.
Thatโs why itโs deadly.
Delay doesnโt feel like failure.
It feels like a small exhale.
And thatโs exactly why it keeps repeating.
If you think delay is harmless,
itโs not.
Delay is expensive in a very specific way.
Every time you hesitate, you pay five hidden fees:
And feedback is fuel. No movement, no data, no growth.
Your brain cycles through:
Should I? When will I? What if?
Each time you talk yourself out of what you wanted,
You reinforce: โI donโt follow through.
Enthusiasm has a half-life. Wait long enough and
the first step gets dauntingly heavy.
You normalize not getting what you want.
Then you stop demanding more of yourself.
The longer you delay acting on inspiration,
the smaller your life becomes.
And your business feels it too:
โSlower decisions.
โSofter standards.
โLess innovation.
โLess leadership energy.
โMore busywork pretending to be progress.
You're waiting for certainty before acting.
Mastery says, "Generate certainty ๐๐ฎ acting."
Acting now produces peace in your nervous system,
clarity in your vision, and impact that compounds.

You design the product. You design the process.
You design the team. But the relationship?
Founders build remarkable things.
They almost never build their key relationships
with the same intentionality they
bring to everything else.
โThey manage a co-founder dynamic nobody ever agreed on.
โLead a team inside expectations nobody named out loud.
โAutopilot their marriage while the real conversation waits for "later."
Then they wonder why the relationship isn't working.
The pattern under most relational friction isn't conflict.
The relationship that isn't working in your life right now:
when did you last build it like you do your business?
When did you explicitly say what this relationship is for,
what matters inside it, what you will create it to be?
Not what you ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฆ the other person figures out;
what you're committed to creating together.
Your key relationships are either designed on purpose
or inherited by default.
Default relationships drift.
Intentional ones compound.
Which are you leading right now?
Most people call it "just how we are." What if it's just how you defaulted?
