I finally typed "The End" on my 2nd novel: a near-future scifi.
Read more about it now.
I'll be looking for Beta Readers in about 4-6 months. Let me know if you're interested!

@syntr0py Definitely. And how we each bring bits of ourselves, our past into the search, all of which is imperfectly helpful (if at all).
Just posted my full review today, if you're interested:

@jandrewellis "I really don't think AI has the capacity to create in a artistic sense."
Odd question, but it feels absolutely germane.
Can I send you a short story for Beta reader feedback on that PRECISE idea?
@deidrejowen Better yet, readers would probably consider it a challenge to the form or stylistic choice.
"What is the author SAYING here? Is there really such a thing as a beginning to a story?"
@AlyssaMatesic The idea was simple: use a self-hosted model with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to help streamline the structural editing process.
I even had a "control group" to use: a first-draft of my first novel which I already edited to query-ready.
Nope. Not Close.
@AlyssaMatesic has said she, "truly believe[s] that AI cannot replicate what a human editor brings to the table: nuance, context, intuition, and a deep understanding of story."
I agree with that, and I've got receipts.
I tried to build an AI toolbox that COULD. And it Failed.
"Full Metal Jacket" - Kubrick's Cinematic Oxymoron
Oxy - Sharp
Moron - Dull
A sharp dullness, a merciful killing, a full metal jacket.

@PJScribbansAuth It's rare that I know the "ending", but I usually know the end.
I have somewhere I KNOW I need to get to. Sometimes vague, sometimes specific. How I get there and execute it is usually up-in-the-air.
