Having a 24 team playoff without granting an auto bid for EVERY conference champion is ludicrous.
Even with 10 champions and Notre Dame (let’s assume there’s an auto bid somewhere for the Irish) that’s still 13 at large bids. You don’t need 19 at large bids. Ludicrous.
The NCAA can vacate 47 wins because of a U2 concert, but apparently can’t do anything about a conference replay crew getting a game-changing decision wrong?
I’ve seen a lot of good and a lot of bad uniforms in my day
The Monster Energy sponsor patch on Big 12 jerseys might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen on a football uniform
I just don’t see how the current college football landscape is sustainable
Iowa State had been a solid program for years
Now?
They have 17 players remaining on the roster for next year, only 1 returning starter
It’s impossible to compete like this
The chance to host a Super Bowl once every 15-20 years will lead to a generation that thinks Buffalo and Green Bay playing outdoors is an anomaly. What happened to the sport we love man
Why are we mad at JMU who played within the rules? The ACC should wear this for having a conference title game that didn't pit Miami vs UVA
This isn't a JMU vs ND discussion (under the current rules) it's actually a Bama vs ND discussion that Coach Saban conveniently deflected
“The G5 teams nowadays are different than the G5 teams of 10 years ago.”
The American Conference has more wins against the SEC in the last calendar year than Auburn, Arkansas, and South Carolina combined.
South Florida won on the road in The Swamp, where #13 Texas lost.
Memphis has won their last 4 straight games at home vs. SEC teams.
Boise State had a Heisman finalist (probably should’ve been Heisman winner) and was ranked in the Top 10 last season…
Northern Illinois beat the Notre Dame team who reached the natty last year.
Tulane’s QB this year led BYU to an 11-2 record last season in the Big 12. Tulane beat Northwestern by 20 (same margin of victory over Northwestern as Oregon) and beat Duke.
Old Dominion held Indiana to fewer points than Oregon did and was more dominant against Virginia Tech than Vanderbilt was.
UConn beat Boston College by 15, the same margin of victory over BC as Notre Dame.
New Mexico beat UCLA by 25, and then UCLA went and beat Penn State, Michigan State, and Maryland.
San Diego State beat Cal by 34. That Cal team beat Minnesota, Louisville, and SMU.
For those questioning the automatic inclusion of at least one non-power league team into the College Football Playoff, what's happening at Tulane (and probably JMU too) is a good reason for it:

As some of you may have heard. Today was my last day at NIU. I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to be apart of this special place. I am going to miss seeing everyone daily. Especially those paid friends that ended up turning into real friends.
Today is a day to take a moment to understand how truly lucky you are to be alive right now, right this moment. Because today there will be two college football bowl games played in baseball stadiums, a bowl sponsored by Snoop Dogg, a bowl between two teams in the same conference, and the ritualistic sacrifice of a Pop-Tart.
Mankind cannot, and will not, be stopped.
