A nice cheap find, a 1 penny Birr Garrison Token (bigger than 2 euro coin). Despite looking like its been in the ground, these tokens are fairly hard to find. They would have been used in garrison canteen in @BarracksBirr 6 in total 1/4d, 1/2d, 1p, 3d, 4d and 6 d.
This was a great year to promote the history of #BirrBarracks#Offaly throughout the year we have been working on the following video series to further promote, education and highlight the importance of this barracks.

Probably the best 5 pounds I ever spent. An original press photo of Martin Moffat Leinster Regiment receiving his Victoria Cross in 1919. The area around his head has been painted out, so his headshot could be used on its own.
On this Armistice Day, Birr members laid a wreath and observed a Minute’s Silence at the memorial outside the old Leinster Regiment Depot in Crinkill. Pictured are Patricia Brophy, Mary Kennedy, Jnr O’Callaghan and Eddie Nevin. #WeWillRememberThem
