Against all odds, the Nigerian Bar Association @NigBarAssoc, under the capable leadership of our President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN @afamosigwe, successfully relocated and hosted its 2025 Annual General Conference in Enugu, following the principled decision to move the venue from Rivers State in firm defense of the rule of law.

In just under four months, what seemed like an enormous challenge was transformed into a truly remarkable gathering of over 17,000 lawyers who united in Enugu from the 22nd to 29th of August, 2025, for the biggest legal conference on the African continent. From the distinguished keynote speaker to bold conversations, engaging sessions, and vibrant networking, the NBA Conference was a resounding success by every measure.

Enugu, the host city, rose to the occasion with unmatched grace and hospitality. Throughout the conference, the city proved itself to be not only peaceful and secure but also incredibly welcoming to thousands of lawyers who arrived from across the country and beyond. Enugu exuded the calm confidence of a city prepared for greatness.

Congratulations to Mr. President and the entire Conference Planning Committee for delivering a world-class conference that truly lived up to our theme, “Stand Out, Stand Tall.”

This is how President Bola Tinubu will start looking at Governors, because by this singular action of the President, every Governor in Nigeria will now look at Rivers State and sit up from henceforth. If it can happen to them, it can be done to them if they allow their state degenerate. I foresee better service delivery in governance at the state and local government levels from now onwards.
