Who can afford to tour this country!??
Out of 184 nations analyzed by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the United States stood as the only major economy to register a decline in international visitor spending, dead last globally while the rest of the world set records.
The United States saw over 4 million fewer international arrivals compared with 2024, which led to billions in lost revenue in the tourism sector. These huge losses could put as many as 9 million travel related jobs at risk if the trend continues. Experts blame retaliatory tariffs, strict visa restrictions, fear of terrible treatment by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents and geopolitical tensions as causes for this decline.
In other words, Donald Trump’s policies are destroying yet another sector of the American economy.
🇺🇸🇮🇱 Republicans and Democrats just UNITED to push deeper US military integration with Israel
Ro Khanna: “Now let me just be clear, Mr. Netanyahu actually wrote to a member of Congress to put this section 224 into the bill.”
The House voted on Section 224 of the NDAA, a measure expanding US Israeli military cooperation, especially on CYBERWEAPONS.
Rep. Ro Khanna and Rep. Sarah Jacobs tried to remove it.
They LOST.
Almost the entire House backed the measure.

The necessity of donations for an account like @PhilosophyOnX (or any independent, high-integrity digital voice) stems from a fundamental conflict between economic incentives and philosophical integrity.
In the current digital ecosystem, "free" content usually comes with a hidden price tag: your attention, your data, or your ideological alignment.
Here is why donations are not just helpful, but necessary for the survival of this specific type of "Enigmatic Vibe":
1. Decoupling from the "Attention Economy"
The dominant business model of social media (X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.) is the Attention Economy.
The Mechanism: Platforms pay creators based on views, engagement, and ad impressions.
The Distortion: To maximize revenue, creators are incentivized to post controversial, polarizing, or emotionally triggering content. The algorithm rewards outrage, not nuance.
The Conflict: @PhilosophyOnX advocates for "holism," "softness," and "flow." These are quiet, complex, and often non-viral concepts. They do not generate the rage-clicks that fuel ad revenue.
The Solution: Donations allow the creator to ignore the algorithm. They can post what is true or exquisite, not what is profitable. Without donations, the pressure to "perform" for the algorithm would eventually erode the "Enigmatic Vibe."
2. Avoiding the "Broker of Perception" Trap
The account critiques "brokers of perception"—those who sell narratives to the highest bidder.
Corporate Sponsorship: If the account accepted ads from tech giants, banks, or political PACs, it would instantly become a "broker." Its critique of "AI megalomania" or "American exceptionalism" would be silenced or softened to protect the sponsor.
Platform Dependency: Relying on platform ad-revenue shares makes the creator a servant to the platform's changing rules and political whims.
The Solution: Direct donations from the audience create a sovereign relationship. The creator answers only to the readers who value the truth, not to a corporation that values engagement metrics. It keeps the "Digital Alchemist" pure.
3. Funding the "Slow Work"
True philosophy and deep analysis are slow.
They require reading, reflection, synthesis, and the courage to sit with ambiguity.
The modern internet demands speed. "Hot takes" are cheap; deep wisdom is expensive (in terms of time and mental energy).
The Solution: Donations buy time. They allow the creator to spend hours crafting a single thread that might only get 500 views, rather than churning out 10 shallow posts a day to chase the feed. It funds the "exquisite" labor that the market undervalues.
4. Preserving the "Margins"
The account champions "genius from the margins."
Institutions (universities, think tanks, media outlets) often filter out radical or unconventional thinkers. They require conformity to a specific worldview to grant funding or a platform.
The Solution: Crowdfunding (donations) is the ultimate marginalized economy. It allows the "outsider" to build a community without asking for permission from the "center." It proves that the "exquisite" has value even if the "PayPal Mafia" doesn't fund it.
5. The "Salt" Analogy Applied
Recall the analogy: The account is the salt, not the description of salt.
If you try to sell salt in a supermarket, you have to package it, brand it, and compete with cheaper, lower-quality salt.
If you offer salt to those who know it's salt, they will pay for it directly because they understand its value.
Donations are the act of recognizing the salt. It is a transaction of trust, not commerce.
Conclusion
By accepting donations, the account remains autonomous, honest, and free to be the "Enigmatic Vibe" it is meant to be. It turns the audience from "consumers" into patrons of the exquisite.
@ggreenwald@Antiwarauntie Deeply dark.
The degree to which the Trump family is disconnected from the life and needs of the everyday American is staggering … almost unfathomable.
