When you go to a foreign country, you’re in that country at the pleasure of that country. That guest pass can be pulled at any time, especially considering you’re not a citizen. The US is not an exception in this regard. It’s highly unlikely Ozturk was a student just focused on her studies and trying to blend in with the culture: federal agents generally don’t waste their time with those folks. I’m sure there’s much more going on behind the scenes with Ozturk that we’re going to discover in the coming days.
