@KasimirUrbanski @AngryGamesInc Yawning Portal has Sunless Citadel and Doomvault, which actually have keys for their locked doors. It also has Tamoachan and Tomb of Horrors, which are deliberately sealed and have to be broken open.

It's not a universal, it depends on the experience you want to create.

An important corallary to this is: never make finding secret doors or solving puzzles NECESSARY, unless

A. You make it super obvious or

B. There are other ways to get around it and progress.

(This is why Tomb of Horrors is considered a bad adventure)
