@SarahHuckabee Did Arkansas recognize murder was wrong after the Elaine massacre in 1919? Men, women, and children were hunted and murdered because of the color of their skin. Not a single person who committed these crimes was convicted & this was when the Bible was taught in schools.

@SarahHuckabee For the past 3 years I have taught AP World history I have had 100% pass rate from the College Board exam which is leaps and bounds beyond the AR, USA, and international scores but I do not receive merit pay because I teach Social Studies. #historymatters

@wren_mccoy @WilleAndHisSong I know what parenting is bc I am one- it is intentional, everyday showing up and refusing the let the child take the easy way. Forcing them to recognize the consequences of their actions, supporting them through it but my job is to teach my two children how to be an adult.

We are having to teach them basic life skills, teaching emotional regulation, taxes, how to tie their shoes (11th grader who didn’t know how) etc. All these things & more my parents did. So many parents aren’t

@wren_mccoy @WilleAndHisSong I do feed my students- I have snacks & water bottles (when I can afford to purchase them), I have donated to our school closet to help with clothing. I don’t think you understand how little parenting is done now. We have to step in and bridge the gap, every single day.

SWEDEN: college tuition is free. Loans for the cost of living while attending college have an interest rate around 0.1%

GERMANY: tuition at public universities is free. Loans for the cost of living are interest-free for low income students

FRANCE: Tuition is only €175-250/year. Loans are rare

USA: The average price of tuition for a four year degree at a public state school is $42,960. For private colleges it's $152,280 for a four year degree. That doesn't include the cost of living.

The vast majority of students must take out student loans to attend. They are charged 6% interest on the loan

If you want to be financially responsible and pay out of pocket instead of taking out loans, you need to save up $50,000 before you can attend college

We need to rethink everything about higher education in America because our current system sucks

Elementary students should not be taking standardized tests. Because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away the fun and excitement of learning, playing, exploring, & creating. We create test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.
