‘The Last Farm before the Moor’ was one of Peter Brook’s favourite themes. Often revealing a bleak, unwelcoming landscape, here the painting is softened by the wisp of white smoke drifting across the sky, a sure sign that the building has not, like so many others, been abandoned.
Rochdale Hornets are delighted to announce the appointment of Glenn Kershaw to the club’s board of directors.
🤝 Glenn, alongside his brother Iain, has also become part of the club's ownership group.

‘Who Lives in a House Like This? - No One - It’s in a Reservoir Catchment Area’ is one of a series of Peter Brook paintings drawing attention to the plight of those in the Dean Head Valley forced to abandon their homes in the 1960’s to enable the creation of Scammonden Reservoir.
Much like scenes of football fans celebrating England’s victory in Dallas last night, Peter Brook’s ‘Off T’ Match’ portrays 1950’s flag-waving supporters travelling on top of a tram to a game in the North of England. (Signed print for sale at Paul Beighton Auctioneers next week)
‘Pennine Valley of White Farms’ reveals Peter Brook’s assured use of light, its dark brooding sky contrasting with the sunlit buildings in the foreground. Easy to miss is the shadowy figure in the doorway accompanied by a curious collie. (Sold by Lawrence’s Auctioneers in 2022)

Labour had 14 years to prepare for government - they’ve been a disaster from day one. The economy’s shrinking, billions more on benefits, excessive borrowing, more illegal immigrants, net stupid zero, and they can’t defend Britain. They’re dangerous. We need a general election.
