Gwynne Shotwell, the president of SpaceX who has run the company's operations for over 20 years, once described the exact moment she realized Elon Musk was not a billionaire playing with rockets. She was interviewing for a job at this strange new company called SpaceX in 2002 and sitting across from a 31 year old internet millionaire who had never built anything physical in his life.

She expected a pitch. She expected enthusiasm. She expected the kind of optimistic hand waving that billionaire hobbyists do when they want to buy their way into an industry they don't understand.

What she got was a technical conversation so detailed that she realized within 15 minutes that he had taught himself rocket propulsion from textbooks. Not summaries. Not overviews. The actual orbital mechanics and propulsion physics that she had spent a career learning. He was asking her questions that only someone who had read the source material would know to ask.

She said later that the moment she knew he was serious was when he corrected a number she gave him about a propellant mass fraction. He didn't correct it arrogantly. He corrected it quietly, the way someone does when they've been staring at the number for weeks and know it the way they know their own phone number. The correction was right.

A 31 year old who had made his money from internet payments had taught himself enough rocket science to correct a career aerospace engineer's propellant calculation during a job interview. Not because he was showing off. Because the number mattered and the wrong number would eventually kill someone.

Gwynne took the job. She has run the operational side of SpaceX for two decades. She is widely credited as the person who made SpaceX function as a business while Elon pushed the physics.

The partnership began with a corrected number in a job interview. The number was right. The hire was right. The company that number eventually built has launched more rockets than any organization in human history.

She says homeless are being flown into Maine to live off the system, “It’s a lifestyle” and the homeless have no requirements to do anything. They are just handed everything for free and can go out into the public and do whatever they want during the day

She says in additional to the homeless being flown into Maine to live off the government, Democrats on Maine are giving them everything they need to be drug addicts

It’s true, the homeless are being provides for free

- Sterile syringes, needles and injection supplies including cookers, cotton, tourniquets, etc
- Naloxone (Narcan)
- Fentanyl and xylazine test strips so users can check their supply before injecting or using
- “Boofing” kits which are needleless syringes, lubricant packets, saline tins and wipes for rectal administration of drugs
- Wound care supplies
- Safer-sex materials
- Free ongoing methadone and Suboxone programs (The woman says these programs are being abused)

Here are documented nonprofits and programs that pay for travel for the homeless

- Portland, Oregon’s Portland Solutions. Officials have explicitly mentioned sending people to Maine
- San Francisco’s Homeward Bound and Journey Home programs. These are city programs that have relocated thousands of homeless people out of the city by bus or other means to destinations across the United States
- There are For-profit “human brokers” in the addiction treatment industry where they take the homeless and send them to other states to get paid for enrolling them into treatment program. There are TONS of companies getting paid to do this

There are even medical facilities in California, Florida and all over that pay companies for referral fees for thousands of new patients every month

It’s a giant homeless industrial complex and it will only keep growing unless the money is cut off

Fifteen Democratic senators are pushing to recognize Indigenous Peoples' Day on the exact date of Columbus Day. Maine, Vermont, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C., have already replaced the holiday.

And anyone who thinks this ends with Christopher Columbus has apparently slept through the last six years.

During the 2020 riots, the wrecking crew went after Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and other towering figures of American history. Apparently, nobody who helped build this country can survive the moral purity tests of people who have accomplished little beyond finding new things to despise.

The message is unmistakable: America's history is an endless indictment, its heroes are criminals awaiting sentencing, and its traditions are embarrassing relics that must be systematically dismantled.

There's an ancient Roman term for destroying monuments and stripping historical figures of their public honors: damnatio memoriae.

The Romans understood that controlling what a civilization remembers helps determine what it becomes.

So do today's cultural vandals.

And these sanctimonious bastards have the arrogance to lecture Americans about historical ignorance while ignoring the anti-Italian persecution that helped make Columbus Day a symbol of immigrant acceptance.

They want to decide which ancestors deserve gratitude, which achievements deserve celebration, and which chapters of American history must disappear from public view.

Then Biden-appointed Judge Sara Hill suppresses evidence over a warrantless Flock license-plate database search, departing from the approach taken by nearly every other court examining similar technology.

Her reasoning? The surveillance dystopia that modern technology could eventually create.

Wonderful. The cops caught an alleged drug trafficker in Oklahoma, and the judiciary decided to hold a fucking symposium on Minority Report.

Government surveillance absolutely needs constitutional limits. Nobody wants bureaucrats tracking every American's movements.

But if the constitutional problem is prolonged, dragnet surveillance, explain precisely how this deputy's database inquiry crossed that line. Spare us the futuristic drone fantasies while 91 pounds of actual meth sit on the evidence table.

This is what happens when institutional sophistication becomes an elaborate exercise in self-sabotage. Every concrete achievement gets dragged through a maze of abstractions until the people responsible for producing results are left wondering why they bothered.

The criminals have drugs. The police have evidence. The legal establishment has 38 pages of intellectual gymnastics.

Hasan receives a military trial, a death sentence, years of appeals, and nearly seventeen years of taxpayer-funded confinement and medical care. His victims receive graves, shattered families, and memories of an ordinary afternoon turned into a slaughterhouse.

And now Hillary fucking Clinton is outraged.

The execution of their murderer, scheduled for December, is apparently “barbaric” and beneath America's dignity.

Think about the staggering moral bankruptcy required to make THAT your hill to die on.

An Army officer betrayed his oath, turned his weapon against defenseless fellow soldiers, and committed mass murder inside an American military installation. After nearly seventeen years, the possibility of finally carrying out his sentence has become another opportunity for political grandstanding.

The soldiers never received seventeen years to make their case. Their families never received seventeen years to bargain for another outcome. Yet the country is supposed to agonize over whether Hasan's punishment offends the refined sensibilities of Hillary Clinton.

What a fucking disgrace.

The real barbarism happened when an American officer slaughtered the people who trusted him to wear their uniform. Every year of delay has stretched the distance between that betrayal and its consequences.

America owes those murdered soldiers something more substantial than another round of lectures from politicians desperate to demonstrate their moral sophistication.

It owes them justice.

December 1950. The 1st Marine Division was surrounded by Chinese armies at the Chosin Reservoir, in temperatures that dropped to 30 below zero.

The Marines were running low on 60mm mortar rounds. Over the radio, mortar ammunition had a code name: Tootsie Rolls.

So they called for more Tootsie Rolls.

Somewhere down the supply chain, someone didn't know the code. They sent actual Tootsie Rolls. Tons of them, dropped by parachute.

The Marines were stunned. Then they realized it was the best thing that could have happened.

Their rations were frozen solid. You couldn't eat most of them without a fire, and lighting a fire could get you killed. But a Tootsie Roll could be warmed in your mouth and eaten anywhere. It gave starving men quick sugar and energy in the brutal cold.

They found other uses too. Marines chewed them soft and used the candy to plug bullet holes in fuel drums, radiators, and vehicle lines. In that cold, it froze solid and sealed the leak.

Many Chosin survivors swore that candy helped keep them alive on the fighting withdrawal to the sea.

They called themselves the Chosin Few. And some of them carried Tootsie Rolls for the rest of their lives.
