@DeanPapadopoul2 Unfortunately it's bigger than just missing Franz, that was a team-wide collapse unlike anything I've seen. That game stung more as a Magic fan than any one in recent memory
@TheAdamLesar@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius He absolutely can step up when he needs to I just want a little extra to keep shopping around with at the end of the day
@TheAdamLesar@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius Not great picks at all but teams are more likely to jump at that then 2nds without having to give up more players. They needed to make a big move and they got a solid piece just save a couple picks to solve other issues or gain depth for the postseason
@TheAdamLesar@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius Of course there's always this years pick but being able to get him for cheaper while still have a couple extra picks to dangle on front of someone is never a bad thing
@TheAdamLesar@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius He will definitely help compete but that's saying he's the only missing piece to a championship team? No he's not that guy and there's less options to try get other pieces without making bigger roster moves
@RTNBA Definitely disagree, overpaid for a necessary piece but Desmond Bane is not what makes them a contender and they have less to work with to get there without dipping into the roster
@BeORLMagic The picks aren't about just drafting, its trade capital. Now every team is going to try and take advantage and want more picks so we shot ourselves in the foot setting the standard the drastically shrinks the trade pool
@TheAdamLesar@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius Just gave up too much for it. You give less picks for Bane and then there's more we have to make other trades without doing much to the roster. Bane doesn't make us a championship contender and now we have less picks to offer to really become a contender
@nathanxromeo@_Nick11_04 @YYSP120120 @OrlandoMagic@DBane0625@Take5_OilChange And 2 of the last 3 barely played more than half the year. What good does giving up 4 firsts no matter where they fall if he ends up sitting out with injuries again. There's no doubt he's a solid player and can open the floor up but he has to be on the floor first
@j3ss3huh@OrlandoMagic@DBane0625@Take5_OilChange We traded away the future for a guy who hasn't been an all star and hasn't played a full season in 4 years. Desmond Bane is NOT the piece missing to a championship, he's not. He's solid no doubt but giving up what we did is saying he's worth the same as a superstar
@NarrowGaming 100000000000% agree! You don't give up that capital for someonewho hasn't played a full season in 4 years and is far from a perennial all-star. Does he fit? Yes but you're telling me he's worth what you could get a superstar for? Gtfo
@Eaglebear_2@TheHoopGenius The mortgage has been in their names for the last 2 years too, giving up all that capital and saying that somehow Desmond Bane is the missing piece to a championship is delusional. Saving some of those picks couldve gotten another rotation piece to solidify everything
@nocapking_@OrlandoMagic@DBane0625@Take5_OilChange Bane definitely fits and he's going to open things up but when the organization says that he's the only missing piece to a championship that's a LOT to deal with. Like you said 2 picks would've been ideal to then be able to make a run for someone to fully round out the squad
@TheGhostOfGeert@BrutalAsBucs But paid WAY too much for someone who hasn't played a full season in 4 years. The acquisition hasn't been the problem its saying that somehow Desmond Bane is the missing piece to a championship, now there's no room to add pieces to make a deep run
