@DeterminedReds With furrowed brows, Elder Kettle cast his eyes onto the floor for a brief moment, returning to the porcelain boy with a stern expression.

@DeterminedReds “What do you mean gone? Oh dear...Don’t tell me that fiend really...” Kettle put a hand over his mouth, believing his own adopted son had perished at the Devil’s hand.
@TheDevilsMug —rummaged through scenarios in his mind, each one more absurd than the last. He shouldn’t be overthinking things this way, but considering the trouble he’s been so many years back, at the very least, he has a reason for it.
@TheDevilsMug Things were reasonable quiet inside the elder’s home, despite the not-so-nice weather howling from the outside of his home. Upon hearing the knock on his doors, he made his way over with trusted cane firmly held in his right arm.

@DeterminedReds Upon seeing the rowdier of the two brothers, Elder Kettle couldn’t help but flash a small smile...which was quickly replaced by a deep frown upon closer inspection of the boy’s porcelain head.
“What happened, Cuphead? And where is your brother? Shouldn’t he have accompanied —
“It was...a gift, from a comrade back in my youth. It was supposed to improve the personality of whoever drank it...But nobody realized that it ended up switching personalities with whoever last drank it.”
“I’m very disappointed in you, son. I would’ve assumed that you knew better than to trick your own brother into drinking strange potions.”
“...It lasts twenty-four hours. Normally, it would be permanent...but I suppose it’s lost its potency.”
Elder Kettle let out a sigh, turning towards Mugman and opening his mouth. But then he realized his mistake and turned back to Cuphead.
“Mugman...I’m going to ask once. Did you or did you not give Cuphead this potion?”
