I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds the fullness of Christ’s gospel on Earth today, along with the priesthood keys to act in His name, with authority directly from Him. My testimony of Him, through this gospel, has blessed my life immeasurably.

If you don’t believe the same, I hold no animus towards you. I won’t seek you out for the purpose of trampling your own faith beliefs. You are my brother, or sister, and I love you. I hope that whatever path you’re on, leads you to Him, and inspires your best efforts to live His commandments.

My older brother and his wife had 8 children born to them. Of the 8, 5 had/have varying severities of a rare syndrome, which makes their care extraordinarily expensive, and difficult in many respects. When she pregnant with their third child, after the first two being born with the syndrome, they had genetics testing done in utero, and the doctor said that the baby was positive for Downs Syndrome, and recommended abortion. They refused, and the baby was born perfectly “normal,” and is thriving today, 22 years later.

Yes, I use the word “retarded” regularly, and will continue to do so, when I think someone is saying, or doing something extremely stupid, when they should know better. Including about myself. However, you will NEVER hear, or see me say something derogatory, in terms of their mental acuity, about someone born with legitimate mental defects. I have always had a soft spot for special needs people, even before my wonderful nieces and nephews came along.
