Today, Hon'ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa
felicitated and presented the Anundaram Borooah Award, 2023 to 27,183 students from Assam who cleared their HSLC Examination with 75% or more marks. Each student will receive ₹ 15,000 each. A total of ₹ 40,77,45,000 has been sanctioned by the Govt of Assam for the occasion.

Addressing the awardees today, the Hon'ble CM extended his heartfelt congratulations and encouraged them to dream big.

Giving new wings to Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji's vision of 'Holistic Education for All', HCM Dr. @himantabiswa launched the Pradhan Mantri ScHools for Rising India (PM SHRI) for Assam in Guwahati.

With state-of-the-art infrastructure and offering holistic education as per NEP-2020, the PM SHRI scheme will benefit 264 schools across the state, transforming the education sector.

My gratitude to our Hon'ble PM for conceptualizing this visionary initiative which will catapult the nation's education sector to new heights.

Six New University Bills for Bongaigaon, Nagaon, North Lakhimpur, Gurucharan, Jaganath Barua and Sivsagar University have been introduced in the Autumn Session of Assam Legislative Assembly.

Seven Amendment Bills for Gauhati, Cotton, Kumar Bhaskar Varma, ASTU, Madhabdev, Bodoland and Assam Women University have been introduced.

A Repealing Bill in respect of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management has been introduced.

Assam Cabinet has changed the 𝐋𝐏 & 𝐔𝐏 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 policy. The weightage for preparation of merit list will be 𝐇𝐒 (𝟓%), 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝟏𝟎%), 𝐃.𝐄𝐥.𝐄𝐝. (𝟓%) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐄𝐓 (𝟖𝟎%). There will be no recruitment examination.

Chaired a meeting with Dist Officers (DMC & DPO) of 13 districts at @Samagra_Assam and reviewed Teacher transfer and rationalisation of Teachers and Teacher Posts. We are working on a mission to provide teachers to all schools maintaining PTR, both school and subject-wise. @SchoolEdnAssam

Today's Cabinet has decided to enhance the reservation quota for OBC Communities in Higher Education (State Universities and Colleges) from 15% to 27%. Besides, Cabinet decided to provide specific reservations to six communities - Tai Ahom, Chutia, Moran Matak, Koch Rajbangshi and Tea Tribes with the 27% quota for OBCs. @CMOfficeAssam @higherednassam
