🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦Counterattacks near the canal

The repercussions of issues in the Lyman sector have spread to adjacent areas, threatening the northern flank of the "South" Group of Forces, where the enemy is pressing counterattacks on the approaches to Sloviansk.

The fiercest fighting is unfolding near Rai-Oleksandrivka. Footage circulating online shows AFU units attempting to establish a foothold in the southern part of the settlement, gradually setting up positions and ammunition depots within the built-up area.

Russian forces still control the village's eastern outskirts; however, routes for moving up reserves from the direction of Reznykivka are vulnerable to strikes by enemy UAV units. It is highly likely the AFU will attempt to retake the Dolgiy Forest to gain direct fire control over the area.

Further south, Ukrainian formations are attacking positions along the Yurovka–Tikhonovka line, aiming to align the front with the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas Canal. A vast "gray zone" has persisted in this sector for some time, and the Russian military's stable presence west of the canal is limited to three relatively narrow salients.

❗️The enemy's advance is limited in scale and comes at the cost of heavy personnel losses. Nevertheless, it is clear that for any further offensive on Sloviansk, the "South" Group of Forces must bolster its supply lines and adapt to the new threat emerging on its northern flank.

While this may delay a potential assault on the city, it will help mitigate the risk of the AFU expanding its penetration into Russian lines - a scenario with consequences we have witnessed before.
