All you see in Mongla sub-district only Shrimp ponds, used to produce crop more than decades ago. Land conversion, a slightly important pressure in this region (Mangrove BD). Likewise currently aquaculture is also a pressure and partly responsible for mangrove degradation.
This bundle of firewoods very recently collected, just, before the lunch making. That's how the mangrove benefits the locals since decades! One of our respondents explained her 'Sense of Place' that way.

A paper-based/printed version of study area map is very useful while surveying PPGIS, even when it is web-based. They(local) haven't seen their work place such a way, they observing now! They are very determined and confident about fishing route on the map! It was very exciting!
This farmer dared to cultivate rice again after a long time! Rarely observed rice-paddy field in this shrimp pond oriented area. Even many shrimp farmer wished to come back to Paddy production. If this happens, it could reduce the living expenses per month I guess.
Local people call it sweet water pond. taking bath, washing clothes,and culture fishes are forbidden; Only used for drinking purposes after rainy season; although it is very dirty but something is better than nothing! in salty areas.

Could be nice rearing goat and culture Shrimp together -can double the productivity of farmers in the coastal zone of Bangladesh.
But tidal effect of saline water is a threat.
