Please be advised that there is a gas leak in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Hintz Road. Road closures are currently in effect for southbound traffic on Milwaukee Avenue at River Mill Parkway and for eastbound traffic on Hintz Road at Wolf Road.
On Sunday, May 24th, Rolling Thunder participants taking part in the Nationwide Ride for Freedom will travel through Wheeling along Milwaukee Avenue between approximately 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
We’re excited to share the new design of our department squad cars, combining a modern appearance with enhanced visibility. Over the next few weeks all our cars will be updated to the new look. If you see us out on patrol, be sure to give us a wave!

The Prospect Heights Police Dept is investigating an incident. As a result, the westbound lanes of Palatine Rd Frontage between Milwaukee Ave and Wolf Rd are closed. There are no threats to the public, but please avoid the area. An update will be provided when the road reopens.
