We exchanged ideas on how to integrate PR in security operations to impact operational outcomes and public perceptions.

We have taken note of information circulating on social media alleging that H.E. the President has appointed five Assistant Inspectors General of Police.
For the record, the officers referred to in the circulating message were appointed in December 2024 and have since been serving in their respective capacities and executing their normal Police duties.
The message currently being shared is old and misleading, as the Directors mentioned have now been in office for close to two years.
We therefore urge the public to disregard the circulating information and rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.

"I am honored and pleased, at this juncture, to report that following the successful completion of rigorous training, the fears and uncertainties that often accompany such a demanding journey have been overcome, and the expectations of the training programme have been satisfactorily achieved.
The trainees from the two courses graduating today are now fully equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional values required to serve as Police and Immigration officers, ready to faithfully serve their Motherland, Uganda.
More importantly, these graduates have been prepared to understand and appreciate that peace, security, and the rule of law are the bedrock of national development. They have therefore been trained to serve selflessly, uphold integrity, and make meaningful contributions towards the socio-economic transformation and prosperity of Uganda."
I reminded the graduates that discipline and integrity are the foundation of service. They must reject corruption, safeguard their health, and use modern tools such as forensic science, K9 units and CCTV to defeat crime. Security must also support wealth creation by protecting our people and ensuring every Ugandan joins the money economy. I wish them success as they serve Uganda with patriotism and dedication.
Today at Kabalye, I passed out 9,952 officers comprising the 25th Intake of Probationer Police Constables and the 3rd Intake of the Immigration Officers’ Course. I congratulate them on successfully completing their training and commend the Police leadership and instructors for producing a disciplined force.
Probationer Police Constables from Police Training School Ikafe Yumbe today held a virtual Pass-Out ceremony, marking the successful completion of their initial training.
Addressing the graduates, AIGP Joseph Obwona, the Director Interpol and International Relations, urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism, and integrity as they embark on their journey of service to the nation. He encouraged them to remain committed to their oath and dedicate themselves to protecting and serving the people of Uganda.

UPF priority areas in the five-year strategic policing plan (2025/26-2029/30) is consciously aligned with the National Development Plan IV (NDPIV) objectives, focusing on peace and security.
. @igp_ug1 "This is the first time the UPF is training and passing out 9952 trainees in one go. This number represents an increase of 20.5% to the current manpower strength which stands at 48,417.
Your presence underscores your commitment to the continuous transformation and professionalization of the UPF.
Sir, permit me to welcome the Honorable Minister of Internal Affairs and all the other invited guests who have joined you today to this event. We value your coming.
. @igp_ug1 "with this cohort, the total Police Force strength now stands at 58369 (male:43,737-75% and female 14,633-25%) against the population of about 49 million which translates into a police-population ratio of 1:839.
The 9952 trainees constitute 3484 which is 35% female and 6468 which is 65% male.
Fresh blood. Young patriots. A new generation of service.
After enduring nine months of intense and disciplined training, the Probationer Police Constables are today ready to pass out and take their place in serving the nation.
From the parade grounds to the frontlines of duty, they now step forward prepared to protect life and property, uphold the law, and serve with courage, integrity, and commitment.
Congratulations to all the graduates on this remarkable milestone. The uniform now carries greater meaning, wear it with honour, serve with pride.
