Nope, the campaign to embed a minority belief system about gender identity, misnamed "trans rights", is the campaign to let men - including straight men who cross dress as a sexual fetish - self-identify into women's spaces and sports. It quite rightly lacks public support.
@JonnyJMarsh Actually what those committees made clear is that they don't understand equality law and they are unqualified for their roles. Mary Ann Stephenson, on the other hand, is a literal expert in equality and will continue to shore up trust in the EHRC
My court case has been resolved! I’m so happy to share that women in Brighton & Hove now have the option of single sex rape crisis therapy. This will be run by @SurvivorsnetBtn with input from me and other women survivors (1/7)
@VictoriaPeckham@thetimes There is a risk this piece is read by naive and inexperienced young people, who will perceive Tia's life as something to strive for. Will you be writing a critical feminist analysis piece too?
@holyroodmandy This just gets worse and worse, the more I hear about it. The lengths people will go to defend men’s absolute violation of women’s spaces is astonishing. It’s truly horrific that we share society with people who think like this.
The @CommonsWEC is not fit for purpose. A complete embarrassment. Members clearly understand neither the Supreme Court ruling nor the Equality Act, but oppose the appointment of someone who does. The Chair made an absolute fool of herself.
Disgraceful.

Not surprised by @CommonsWEC but ashamed for @HumanRightsCtte which I used to chair. The evidential hearing was full of ignorant questions not based in law. This candidate is eminently qualified. This is disgraceful.

When you tell a woman she must pretend a man is a woman, you’re asserting the right to control her speech and perception of reality, while also trivialising and devaluing her female-specific experience. You’re asking her to agree that ‘woman’ is a concept men can embody at will.
PM @Keir_Starmer's demonising remarks about migrants, made during the release of the dangerous immigration white paper, were despicable.
We urge the government to cease divisive language & urgently reconsider its proposals with a positive, evidence-based approach to immigration.
It is clear that the UC & PIP Bill cannot and must not be saved. Any concessions will still cause harm to disabled people. The only option is to withdraw the Bill, rethink and start to rebuild trust with disabled people. Not to is not Labour.
Sorry, what's horrible about a charity which amplifies the voices of women, builds sisterhood and solidarity and defends women's human rights (yeah, we have them too) @JolyonMaugham you complete and utter misogynist
Nothing to see here
Just a prominent KC describing a women’s rights organisation who aims to amplify the voices of minority women as
“Obviously horrible”
Can you see what it is yet?
@BellaSankey 6-
And one final point. Our health event was part of #WomensHealthMonth
Something that went unmarked by our MPs & Council. This is not unusual.
Women, as always, are on the bottom of Brighton's equality agenda.
This is why we do what we do- because women & girls matter ♥️
@UKLabour seem to be completing their bingo card of harming people with protected characteristics:
- winter fuel allowance
- disability benefits
- immigration
- data bill and now Labour Women's conference
What's next?
Houses of Parliament refuses to ban trans women from female lavatories
@MForstater: “If one institution in the country should show leadership in following the rule of law, it’s the one where the law is made.”

Regarding the incident in Brighton library over Sister's Salon meeting, I think it is worth underlining...
Every time some smug smartarse turns around and chides us for all the things we could have been doing for the last decade had we not had to focus on this massive effort to maintain women's legal existence and rights to single sex space, this is the reason why it was necessary.
Because the trans rights project went all in on trying to stop women just getting on with our own shit and insisted that absolutely everything had to be all about them.
None of us decided to spend our time on this. You got in our faces and told us we had to change our words, our analysis, our political movement, the organisation of public space, and the law, to suit you.
And we refused.
That is what happened.
