For the first time, water💧took center stage, with the launch of the #AfricaWaterVision2063, designed to secure water, improve sanitation & connect these priorities to #climateresilience, #healthsovereignty & #economictransformation.

📑 4th Intergovernmental Negotiation Sessions for a United Nations Framework Convention on #InternationalTaxCooperation.
🗣️| Submission by YTJN Team Lead, Mr. Allan M. Murangira (@Mura_Allan) on Article 5 on Fair Allocation of Taxing Rights.
In his submission, he calls for the further strengthening of #Article5, underscoring that;
‘The Convention should warrant that State Parties shall ensure the effective taxation of income from the extraction & sale of natural resources in the jurisdiction where that extraction occurs, reflecting the unique non-renewable nature of those resources and the principle that resource-rich countries have primary taxing rights over their natural wealth’.

In his keynote address earlier today, @DumsSaleshando, reaffirmed his commitment to steward the course of domesticating the model law, which provides the blueprint to transform Botswana’s economic systems.
