"For me, this ain't about just no candidacy. I told my beloved wife, if I win the White House, I'm not moving into the White House until everyone has a house! That's what it means to serve the people, love for the people, sacrifice for the people." - @CornelWest
"For the last 40 or 50 years we've had too many Black leaders who have become too well-adjusted to injustice... That's what it is to live in an American Empire that is in internal decay as it spends trillions on wars..." - @CornelWest
@CornelWest "When I go around the country, I say I just want to re-introduce the country to the best of America... What does the world of American Empire look like on the chocolate side of town?" - @CornelWest

@LongBeachMayor@RexRichardson You are saying you believe housing is a human right, but Long Beach residents are saying that housing in the city is too expensive. What is your plan for truly affordable housing in Long Beach? https://t.co/JhQJNupQP6
Long Beach resident on City's conduct during park shelter controversy: "I don't agree with how you handled it tonight. I would really hope that the City looks at how you handle the community, because you need some help going back to that."
West Long Beach resident: "I have seen the depletion of life's conditions onto West Long Beach.. If the City's personnel did their due diligence they would find that El Dorado is the best place to be."
LB resident: "Where is the equity? The community hospital was vacant, given away to the Molina family. It was given away to them by the City. It was vacant, not doing anything. This park is not vacant. It's where my kids went because there are no other parks that are close by."
West Long Beach resident: "We are here because we care about our community. That includes unhoused folks as well. This is about protecting our communities when this City doesn't give a sh*t about this community."
